Cockburn Bike Lockers

Has anybody had good/bad experiences leaving their bikes at Cockburn Central Station east/west side?

I'm going to start using this as a base for my rides and was looking at using either the cage, or better still one of the little green bike lockers if I can get there early enough (i'm looking at ~6/6.20am).

The cage on the East side is currently being enlarged to double the current capacity. Not sure if they're doing any upgrades on the West side. Both the cage and green lockers are relatively empty due to the current weather, they fill up much faster when the morning are not so brisk.

Some inconsiderate asshat put a small tear in my bar tape and seat when I was using the West side cage a few years back, gets a bit crowded with two bikes on either side of each hoop. This prompted me to start using the green lockers instead.

In summary, stay far far away. I don't need/want any more competition for those lockers in the mornings. :P

Cheers ill try to keep my riding to a minimum, intentions are to increase distance north every month or so anyway, so not too long at cockburn i hope.

Any ideas on when the green lockers fill up?

You're right, just teasing. First in, first served.

There is 1 box on each side, so room for 8 bikes total. I get there around 7:30am and there is usually 1 or 2 free slots on the East side. If you're coming up the bike path you'll be heading via the West side, so may as well give that a try and then cross the bridge through the station to the West if need be. A year ago when I was using the West side I generally got a locker at 7:30ish even in the warmer months. You should be right.

When it warms up and the days get a bit longer I'll be back to my proper commute into the city. In winter I'm lazy and just do the 3km from my house to the traino. =D

Got access to the west side cage at Cockburn this week. I wonder if they fixed the 99user limit of the software or just bumped a bunch of non-users?

Saw a girl parking her 50cc scooter in the cage the other morning, didn't hang around to see where exactly it ended up. Bit concerned for the bikes as the scooter looked damn heavy and hand to manage. Not sure if that's what the bike cages are intended for.
