Central Institute of Technology Master Plan - Perth

Postby rolandp » Tue Sep 18, 2012 8:29 am

Going up to Council tonight is the Central Institute of Technology Master Plan. It proposes the closure of Museum St and making this a shared zone, as well as integrated cycling routes for Francis St and William St.

Bring more of it on.

It's a great looking plan, and will add a lot more vibrancy to the area, which has been undergoing a lot of gentrification already recently.

I often use the Aberdeen St bike lanes, so the transformation in this area has benefited me already. Throw in some speed bumps along there and the number of cars will reduce significantly, and give pedestrians more assurance of the speed motorists are doing.

Museum Street is currently really only used as an on-street parking zone, there is no other reason for cars to use it.
