Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?Hi Girls (or nice boys)
I'm wondering if any girls would be interested in forming a team to complete the Petit Oppy as listed on the Audax calender for Saturday Mar 16th 2013. It's set for a minimum of 180km in 24 hours, the spirit of Audax is that you ride as far as you can and the idea not that you stop at 180 but see if you can go beyond. We would be as strong as our slowest rider - a real empahsis on team and helping each other along. Cheers Rowena P.S. don't want to respond here? email me at [email protected]
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested? There was a full womens team on the last oppy. They don't come on BNA tho best bet is to turn up to an Audax event and find them

Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?
I also am aware that there are a lot of WA women on these forums and perhaps this thread might encourage other women to participate in Audax events.
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested? If I could ride for more than 20km without turning into a wheezing, sweaty mess I would be in. Maybe I can start training for the one in 2014!
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?Or start training for this one... It's not till April
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?I've just forwarded this to someone who was also talking about a ladies team, there were mumblings about being maybe 3 riders interested, looking for a 4th. But I'll let her sort that out.
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested? Thanks heaps
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?I currently have interest from 3 interested parties (4 including myself and 1 man).
I am thinking it may be possible to form two teams - a sort of beginers team to do the 180km (petit) and a more advanced team to do the 360km (Opperman All day Trial) So that being said, if you're a women in WA and think you can't make it to 180km, ride a road bike and are dreaming that you can... then you should email me and we'll get you to 180km.
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested? So I've got
2 x interested in the 360km 2 x interested in the 180km 2 x people I'm waiting to hear from
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?Well. I have 5 people who are down for the 360km. I still need some people for the 180km (I have 2 people who are interested in this)
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?I have three people interestes in the 180km, would love to make it 5 incase anyone pulls out along with way due to family commitments or injury
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?Anyone else? I now have 6 people who are wanting to do the 360km, so it would be great to have some more people come on board and then we could have two 360km team
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?I now have 7 people interested in the 360km Oppy, so I'm asking if ANYONE else is interested (perhaps another three), any gender is fine.
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?I'm now at about 8 riders, trying to con a chick into doing the 360km over the 180km, on the basis that she's allowed to ditch her team after 200km (so that means we would have 9), I will ride with people all week, to get their confidence up, as long as there is a bakery, I'm happy to ride my bike on adventures!!!!
So I need one more person.... is that you?
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?I have space for about two more people
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?I would be interested in the 180km, depending on how hilly it is.
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested? If I end up doing it, the only hills will be down hills
Re: Petit Oppy - Any Girls interested?
It's going to be a flat route most likely. Maybe some little bumps tho. Masi Speciale CX 2008 - Brooks B17 special saddle, Garmin Edge 810
