Police are appealing for information about an incident in Hamilton Hill last month in which a 20-year-old man was shot in the buttock.

A spokesman said the man was visiting relatives at a home in Starling Street on October 9 when he and his relatives decided to go to a nearby service station about 11.30pm.

The man rode a bicycle and was waiting in a park off Mortlock Street for his relatives to catch up when a group of men came towards him yelling.

He turned to ride away from them, heard a loud bang and felt pain in his right buttock.

The man was able to ride back to Starling Street and was taken to hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
