Stirling St Underpass Claremont

Meant to post about this a couple of weeks ago when the signs went up.

If you're riding between Claremont and Swanbourne Stations on the PSP this month you'll be diverted around the construction works at Stirling St where a separate pedestrian and cyclist underpass is being built. The diversion is pretty straightforward. Heading west if you stay on the road after Stirling St you'll be riding into oncoming traffic on a single lane, best to cross to the footpath and cross again 50m along to get back on the PSP. The two or three traffic management people stationed there seem to spend a leeetle bit too much sitting in their cars away from the junction methinks...

Those council/main roads workers are classic.

Every morning and afternoon I pass them, it looks like they haven't moved all day. They're just gas-bagging and not even watching the intersection.

With the occasional 'blargh-argabargle the foothpath' if you're heading south.
