Mandurah to Fremantle. Which way would you go?

Hi

On the weekends I occasionally do the PSP from Mandurah to Perth and train it back. I'm considering doing Mandurah to Freo tomorrow to mix it up a bit. If you were doing it which way would you go? Are there some good routes I should know about or have been missing out on? I was thinking of up the Kwinana PSP for a bit and cutting across, but maybe hugging the coast is an option. Not sure so I thought I would ask the brains trust that is BNA.

+1. A lot more scenic and casual than the PSP. No cars on the freeway to 'chaperone' you any more.
Unless time is of the essence its enjoyable exploring. One or two small climbs... I'd tell you how to avoid them, but I usually seek them out myself these days :)

Errr... P..? Shared Path.
The main bike path anyway. Officially shared with walkers, joggers etc. Illegally shared at times with dirt bikes, scooters, golf carts et cetera

I would go on the PSP to Paganoni, then cut across and behind Port Kennedy, to Rockingham then Henderson & Freo.
This is the course I did on Melbourne Cup day last year :

Coastal path around Warnbro is slow and windy, but well worth it for the amazing views and something different.
Roads from Rockingham to Freo have a bike/emergency shoulder just about the whole way, so it's as safe as you can get.

There are paths mostly from Mandurah to Rockingham then Mt Brown (Naval Base), Woodman Point into Freo. Follow this one, ignoring when the map thinks you're riding out to sea, the detours for shade and to stand on the SS Kwinana http://ridewithgps.com/trips/449035 .

There's an Audax ride next Saturday that is following the coast, DWP to Mandurah, Freo then back to DWP, Mt Pleasant. 156km and starts 7am, mix of quiet paths and backroads, the occasional main road, lots of potential eateries along the way, weather should be good.
Baalzamon can give you more details.
