From City of Joondalup:
Good to see that this applies to all users. Wonder if it should include carrying of lights at night for all users?Signage has been installed along the City’s coastal pathways as part of its ‘Share the Path’ campaign.
‘Share the Path’ has been developed by the City to promote and raise awareness of the importance of safety on footpaths, and in particular coastal shared paths, for all users.
Semi-permanent Earth Wrap stickers display key messages such as ‘keep left’, ‘slow’, ‘shared pathway’ and ‘ring when passing’.
Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said the campaign will target all path users, including pedestrians, cyclists, skateboarders and dog walkers.
“The City is a wonderful place to explore and has a number of coastal, bushland and natural areas that are perfect for walking and cycling,” he said.
“However with so many people using these facilities, it is important for all path users to share the path and be mindful of safety.
“This campaign, which is supported by the Department of Transport, is aimed at providing useful tips to make shared paths safer and more enjoyable for everyone.”
The Earth Wrap stickers have passed CSIRO slip performance tests and meet international safety standards.
