Hi Guys

My much loved Clamont was stolen along with my sons Giant MTB from our shed in Bassendean on the 26/12/13. We have been away on holiday since, returning today the 1/1/14. Unfortunatly we did not have our security camera on the 26th due to charging the batteries etc ready for our trip.........but we did have it on while away and have captured some good shots of someone returning the following night which we hope will help the police (nothing further was stolen.....good neighbours )

Anyway if we don't get the bike's back, the sons bike will be an easy insurance job, but my Clamont not so.

Details as follows

Late 80s 60cm Columbus SLX frame. Bare metal respray, light blue, with new Clamont Decals 'mint' no scratches etc
80s Campag super-record, F & R derailleur, Brake callipers
Campag down tube, non syncro shifters
The brake levers are c-record aero with NO hoods (was next on the to-do list)
Late 80s early 90s chorus crankset 39,53 mint with no scratches
chorus aero seat post 'mint' and rolls seat 'used'
2 bottle cages with micro pump on down tube
Shimano clipless MTB pedals
Shimano 10spd cassete, shimmed (cogs removed) to be a 7spd
Late model Easton Circuit wheel set

The Clamont has been a labour of love over the past year, and while its old skool, its fits me like a glove and i just love banging out the Km's on it.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Fantastic news! Any word on the Giant?

Cheers Guys...really happy to get her back. Damage was limited to a few frame scratches, seat post scratches, from dropping it right down to try a ride it i guess, missing cat eye and flat spotted rear tyre. I think they were chasing the GIant MTB and saw this hanging there...... It was found about 1km from home.
No news on the Giant, but we handed in the photo's of the culprit we got the following night so hopefully the police have some luck tracking him down. Have made the street the Clamont was found our new route so hopefully a White Giant Boulder or the white Toyota liteace van the thief rocked up in will show their face.

I have been meaning to take some photo's to post in the retro's thread but never got-a-round to it, so took some shots today incase she goes missing again.

At least you can clean a bike up. Different story car getting stolen - friend had a car stolen and recovered - despite a good clean, it never sounded or drove the same. Wishes the thieves wrote it off.

The whole purpose of stealing the car is to thrash it and if it goes bang they just get out and walk off. The drivetrain and engine are never the same after that kind of abuse and as the damage is invisible, trying to get an insurance company to cough up is just about impossible.
