a three and a half year custodial sentence for a non-death incident?

colour me surprised.

though I suspect he could be out in much less with "good behaviour" .. ?

(while the victim lives with the consequences for life :( )

Judge said that he would have considered no prison time if the driver had stopped & tried to help, rather than running away & attempting to cover it up.

It's another example where the driver's excuse "I was chronically tired" exacerbates the seriousness of the offence - why was he driving at all ?

Hooray.

I have some recollection that his wife may have been ready to out him at the time as he "had no idea" how the front of his hilux (locked behind the garage doors being badly repaired by himself) got damaged.

Such as the careless driver who killed Yasmin McAllister who got a 3 month suspended sentence
