Friday - September 26 - Subiaco to Fremantle Ride

Postby Aushiker » Tue Sep 23, 2008 5:44 pm

G'day

Myself and Graeme will be meeting up in Subiaco at 5:15 PM and then riding to the Freeway, Narrows and then south to Canning Highway and then across roughly following the river to Fremantle.

If any one wants to join us either for the full ride or parts of it, you are most welcome. We can easily meet at Subiaco, southern end of the narrows (near the toilets?) or the Raffles/Canning Bridge. Graeme will be riding in from Fremantle, so maybe happy to meet up with any riders wanting to do the full circuit.

If you are interested do let us know to look out for you.

I may actually ride in earlier in the afternoon for a meeting, but I'll update as the time comes closer.

This is a good opportunity to compare lights too.

Cheers,
Graeme

yippee, this is the day my cast comes off....but I somehow think a ride to Freo might be a trifle ambitious.

Good question. I don't know - Andrew has his Look 555, so he's going to be fast :).

I'd guess about 30 - 35km/h. Would that be right Andrew?

Cheers,
Graeme

Is this ride on Friday? Or is it on the 25th?

I'm kinda game, I've been off the bike for about 2 weeks with the flu, so would fancy a ride.

Good point Beeblub,

It's Friday, not the 25th. Gotta excuse Andrew - he's an academic ... ;)

(I've been in and changed it now. It's fun to be a mod. :))

Cheers,
Graeme

Thanks Graeme. In my defence I have never suggested I could read a calendar :)

The speed sounds reasonable but really depends on who comes along and the weather.

Hmmm - not sure if I want to do it now - they are forecasting afternoon thunderstorms and rain periods. If I'm out for a recreational ride, I don't want to do it in the rain. I know, I know, HTFU and all that, but I don't need to display testosterone to be happy .... :)

Andrew, I'll give you a call tomorrow afternoon to let you know if I'll definitely be there or if I'll be home with a mug of chocolate and some nice warm slippers.

Cheers,
Graeme

Given the weather and the forecast I assume you will be dragging yourself away from the chocolate and hence will see you at the normal Subi meeting place at 5:15 PM unless I hear otherwise you gallant knight on your yellow steed :)

Chuck, should we expect to meet with you enroute?

Yep, it was a good ride, but we ended up going via Cottelsoe.

First time back on the bent in a few weeks and I'm buggered!  Gotta get my 'bent legs back ....

Cheers,
Graeme
