Hills in Swan Valley

Postby Parker » Tue Aug 01, 2017 5:19 pm

Hi Everyone

So I'm building a house in Dayton which is part of the Swan Valley Council Area and I'm just wondering about some good hills for hill repeats that are quiet during the week. Do you know of anything that I should look at?

Cheers
Rowena

Head to Herne Hill and up Campersic Road. At the top you can do loops of Boulannais Drive. Roads/drivers are generally quite and bike friendly.

Up and down Haddrill/Weir if you like punishment

I find it quieter than Campersic.

Not if you consider the wailing and dry wretching

Heading up Weir today. Don't be concerned if you hear some wailing from the hills direction

I have just checked it out on Google Maps, it will be a 15kmish ride from our new house :)

Rather than heading south parallel with the river, then going east then back up north, to get to that road:-

There's a small walk/bike bridge across the river, just up north from Dayton. I forget the road name on the east side which joins it, but that would be a much more direct route to the base of the hills.

Parker, are you aware of the Reid cycle underpass from Dayton to Arthur St, Caversham?

Bit of drift sand on the Arthur St side. But a good cut through to get on W Swan.
