Darwin Bike Pod

Darwin City Council opened its first ‘Bike Pod’ in the China Town Car Park, Smith Street, Darwin in October 2012. The Pod contains 10 bike racks, lockers and a shower. Membership costs $100 per annum or $50 for six months.

As part of Bicycle NT, we were consulted a bit about this. The pod was bought from a company that specialises in such things and they had some great designs. This pod has 10 parking spaces and one shower. The one shower part is a bit of a concern, but we'll see how it goes.
