Planning a trip from Melbourne to Canberra in late January. Just looking for some tips on what be aware of. Have never done this before.

The plan is to buy a bike, trailer, tent and cooking gear in Melbourne before I head off.
I have estimated the tour to be 930 km and will do it over 3-4 weeks.

Any special reason for using a trailer?

Just so I can have my backpack somewhere. Am planning to go for a 4 day walk at the Prom.

I'm planning a similar trip (Melbourne to Canberra, then Sydney, then Brisbane) and would love to know if you've already gotten yourself a trailer in Melbourne yet. If you did, would you mind telling me which trailer you got and where you got it from?

Thanks for that Detail.

I want to do a trip from Perth to Sydney one day (way too unfit now) and I've been wondering about a trailer.

The fact that you're taking it on your next trip is a good indication, but I must admit that I already hate the inability to brake down hills ("I already hate downhills" just seems like the wrong thing to say).
