This was my first solo bike tour, well quite brief really only 150 km in 2 days but incredibly rewarding.
Didn't find it very tiring did it at an easy pace with plenty of stops - took 240 photos in 2 days.
Actually i am quite sure it would have been a bit faster and easier on a front-suspension bike.
With the road bike i had to often significantly restrain speeds because of harsh road conditions.

Anyway here are some more pics




In approx 150 km i did see .....
many Silky oak trees (Grevillia robusta) beautiful in full flower
many hoop pine trees
many other trees +++
some motorists who smiled and waved and others who looked bored and grumpy
lots cattle, dairy and beef (one tried to chase me !)
some wallabies and kangaroo, 1 large goanna, many birds of all descriptions, but only a few magpies
no snakes (that surprised me, this time of year you would expect to see some snakes)
not many cars on this route, only the occasional truck. some noisy motorbikes though
quite a few cattle grids, which my bicycle did not like at all
NO flat tyres

Did you tour with just that trunk bag? I take it you weren't camping then. If you were camping I'm seriously impressed!

Not camping, as i was only away for 1 night i spent it in a warm bed in the Killarney Hotel, which cost me only 35 dollars with breakfast.
I have stayed in many hotels motels and such places all over eastern australia and this place is unbeatable for cleanliness and value.
