The latest issue of Mountain Biking Australia (November/December/January 07/08) has an article on trailers (BOB) versus panniers by Mick Cafe. It takes an off-road focus. It was interesting reading.

It also has an article on the Mundi Biddi (lightweight) and a review of the Specialized Rockhopper where consideration is given to touring so a small start.
