touring with child in bike trailer July August 08

We plan to tour with our child (2 years) in bike trailer in the Queensland region. We will arrive by plane in Brisbane in early july, we leave mid august.

We would like to see some wildlife and go snorkling around Great Barrier Reef.

Someone ideas for quiet roads (not too hilly and not too sandy because I will have +25kg on my bike and 30 kg from the child and trailer ).

Weather should be dry, but what about wind directions? f.e. better to travel from south to north or otherwise
