Rim is still true so just sanded the sharp edge off...

It'd want to be true with that many spokes (36 on a 16" rim :o)

Dyno Hub Device Recharging

Yeah it's true...I think it's going to be more than strong enough too...

Can anyone suggest a USB rear mudguard specific light...the only one I can find that's any good is by Planet Bike?

Not particularly super bright these days, but PDW do one, the Fenderbot, which I have on my mudguard as a supplement to the B&M Toplight Flat S. Single bolt fastening with a plastic tab to keep in place. It's a very easy fit and works well.

Ah, not USB-rechargeable, just AAAs to run it.

The cygolite hotshot has a fender adapter bracket you can purchase separately.

EDIT: Apologies, as pointed out below it's a rack adaptor bracket, but it's easy to mod this to fit to a fender as it comes with nylock nuts and you just mount it vertically rather than horizontally (see here for the mount)

Do you mean rack adapter? If not can you provide a link please? I might get one.

Simple bit of MacGyver would make any one of those fit and look professional Pete so stop knocking folk that give solutions out side the box.............

Sorry not knocking, just correcting. Those are mostly fitted with rubber straps - not so easy to Macgyver onto a fender tail. Much better to go with something dedicated, or one that is bolt-on and can Macgyver a bracket out of alloy plate. The fender-mount position is more exposed to damage, so even a jury-rigged bracket may leave it more exposed still, so I definitely recommend something like the Fenderbot. On some of our bikes we have dyno-powered B&M Seculites. These are well designed and don't suffer damage.

I looked at those but my Ogre with mudguards is usually placed on the handlebars and saddle for things like puncture repair and chain clean/oil etc. so I decided to stick with the tab I got welded to my Velo Orange Pass Hunter rack.
I was worried about the handlebar mount making the bike off balanced whilst inverted

Great idea making the high rotating speed of the 16" trailer wheel pump out the power.
Much higher output with those rpm than my 29er or your 26 front wheel could do :)

I decided to go with this light mount as it allows me to remove the front rack for bike packing in the future etc...

Higher output but with higher torque required to turn the wheel, more drag. No free rides ;)

Thats the rumour but I didnt notice any decernable drag difference between my 20' wheeled (406) Moulton compared to my 29er Ogre.
I'm not saying its not there but I never noticed it.
I'll be surprised if Wingnut does but look forward to his review. :D

Dyno Hub Device Recharging

No review available rifraf...c r c sent a 16" tyre which has too big inside diameter for my BOB wheel...I guess the one they sent is for a Brompton wheel?

Extrawheel trailer modified to become an in-camp wind generator. Just requires a trailer wheel with dynohub, connected to e-werk to charge.

Those "blades" should work equally well on a bicycles front dyno wheel as a trailer only needing the bike to be inverted instead of the trailer for successful wind charging duty "after hours".
In truth a plagiarised idea from another forum rather than my own

Horror of horrors...... to up-end the bike

I never up-end my bike. God forbid the damage to the Brooks; mucks up all the bar hardware as well, and the rear-view mirror. No there are better ways.

It's probably a legacy of my old road bike days with non-aero brake cables, you don't want to trash your cable housings.

Could the Ewerk charge the Powergorilla? In the Powergorilla manual it says "Charge via AC mains or the solargorilla" just wondering could use the Ewerk instead of the Solargorilla or mains? People have mentioned the Minigorilla works with Ewerk but that doesn't appear to charge a laptop. Have a dynamo and trying to find a way to recharge laptop with inconsistent access to mains.

It might but I doubt it.
The Powergorilla recharges at between 15 and 24 Volts according to the spec sheet I have. The supplied 240V mains charger outputs 16V/2.3Ah to the Powergorilla. Much more than a bike dynamo can produce.
It might be worth contacting Powertaveller themselves. IF the Powergorilla will accept a lower than specified input/charging voltage it may be possible but will take a long, long time to recharge off the hub.
Some time ago I came to the conclusion that charging a laptop on the road from a dynohub was not practical. Better off traveling with, and charging up a tablet that has much lower power (and space) requirements.
