Well this trip is now finished, arrived to Perth from Lancelin on saturday, was a beautiful day out there and some more scenic riding.
Just like Perth-Sydney last year it was a wonderful experience.
Met lots of great people.
Seen lots of interesting places.
This one was a bit better in terms of handling the loneliness on the road, think it was a combination of having a cooking set so i had 'proper' meals and the right amounts of it, most of the time anyway. Also been taking vitamins, krill oil and berocca to get the right stuff into me.
Another improvement from last trip was having the music with me, made a huge difference, being with your brain for days, weeks and then months can be a bit tricky at times, music was a great solution on those long stretches of nothing in Australia.
Bike handled excellent, 9900km and no major issues, only 1 puncture and on day ONE in cairns haha, was a bad start and i was a bit worried but then it was smooth riding all the way.
Lost about 8kgs which isint too bad on such a long journey.
Average kms per cycling day would be around 130 to 140 so around 7 hours or so.
Biggest kms in a day was 200km
Longest day in terms of time was 190 in 11 hours, headwind all the way.
Shortest day was 15 kms! In Litchfield park.
4 days of rain throughout the journey. One which got me stuck in Queensland for 5 days, Lawn hill national park from memory, road turned into mud etc!
Lots of animals on the road as you can imagine.
Challenging weather around NT - 40 + degrees was rather exhausting. Then strong headwinds from Exmouth down. Strategy was to be up by 4AM and do most kms before the weather got too wild, worked generally.
See what the next adventure brings
