Which tour is the best to do?

Postby Nando29 » Sat Aug 17, 2013 1:35 am

Hello everybody!

I live in Sydney and I have planned to do about 1000 km during 8 days at the end of September, but I don't know which tour to choose. I thought to do Adelaide-Melbourne, but I was wondering if the weather will not be too cold and rainy. I was also thinking about Sydney-Melbourne or Sydney-Brisbane.

What do you think is the best, given the weather and the beauty of the landscapes? And perhaps there are other nice tours to do, let me know :)

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Nando,
Welcome to the forum.

Suggest you look back through the touring forum, as there is talk of the routes which you have listed.

Check out the prevailing wind on the BOM.gov.au site, to make life easier.

The Adelaide to Melbourne route can be via the Great Ocean Road, a very pretty destination. 8 days is a short time and is it worth trying to make an ordeal out of the ride, or perhaps be a bit more relaxed and smell the roses as you travel.
cheers
