Seeking good route Launceston to Liffey Falls (Tasmania)

Postby Shoshi » Tue Oct 24, 2017 12:06 am

Hi, I'm planning to tour Tasmania in January and am looking for a nice cycle route from Launceston up to Liffey Falls. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

It sounds slightly contradictory, but I would head north through Trevallyn, taking a route up Pitt Ave and Rowsphorn Rd to the C734. Follow this until it becomes the C732, cross the Bass Hwy, and head for Liffey (C507/ C510/ C505/ C513) and along to the falls. There's climbing in there but this will be the most traffic free route out of Launceston.

I chose a more direct route on my tour from where I was staying at Launceston Backpackers straight up the hill to the Westbury Road and onto the Meander Valley Road(B54). The traffic didn't bother me at all.

I was heading for Westbury but you would need to turn off the B54 at Carrick and take the C511 and C513 to Liffey.
