Plans for a stunning 200km multi-day ride through Central Australia's West MacDonnel Ranges have just been announced, and we're still picking our jaw up off the floor. This is going to be epic.

Sounds like something that a lot of good can come of.

Bout time we heard some "good" news for a change.

I like the sound of this. :D

Proposal is for path out to Glen Helen from Alice Springs.
Already a MTB path out to Stanley Chasm say ~ 20 km.
So ~ 107 km straight line Stanley Chasm to Glen Helen.
They talk of 200 km ... so say ~ 180 km of added path.

They also talk of guided tours, glamping ..
At say 20 km/day that would be some 10 campsites .. each with water, access roads .. and commercial tour sties.

Think walking the Larapinta Trail before this occurs would be a god idea - less people = more solitude.

Might have been better to put it in on the Eastern MacDonald Ranges to share the developments around. But then Glen Helen being a commercial tourist site probably wants it out there.
