Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride ThreadLooking at the weather, looks pretty crappy -- gusty, freezing cold, and wet. It means a 5:45am start for me from Kingston... I might give it a miss this time -- the Kingston - Sandy Bay commute will probably be enough for me.
Had a good ride after lunch today -- Kingston - Howden - Margate - Longley - Neika - Ridgeway. Got a personal best on all the climbs on the route. Still young enough to win the Tour de France

Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride ThreadSorry I wasn't able to make Wednesday. Turned up this morning for Dome again, only one other rider but we rode out most of the way to Granton and back. Very stiff headwind out, made for a cruisy return trip. Pushed hard this evening, caught up to a couple of Praties riders and followed them up the Bonnet but for some silly reason decided to give it up just 100m or so from the summit. Still got my best time up the hill, nothing like another rider in front of you to provide an incentive!

Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride ThreadIm keen for a ride shortly, Sat or Sunday, Monday, Tuesday...okay any day! I slept in on Thursday. No excuses. Keen for maybe cenotaph, Bonnet, Southern Outlet back to Cenotaph?

Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride ThreadAnyone want to accompany me on a 100k ride?
This Sat. (26/6/10) Leaving L'ton Casino car park (AT) 9:00 am for a lap through Longford, Powranna, Cressy, Bishopbourne, Longford and back to the Casino car park. http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Fun-Ton 103k's, mostly flat. Looking for a riding companion. Not planning a fast ride, this will be my first 100k ride. Planning stop at Longford bakery (AT) the 82k mark, and possibly a quick stop (AT) the 21k mark as well. Happy to meet up somewhere along the way if that suits you better, but as I said this will not be a fast ride. Hope to average 23-25 kph, with stop/s I plan to take about 5 hours all up. Reply here or PM me.
Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride Thread
Spork, Cressy to Bishopsbourne is all up hill. Not a steep climb but fairly long (phew). I usually ride in the opposite direction. I normally ride Longford, Bishopsbourne, Bracknell, Cressy, Longford on the weekends. Will probably be out there Saturday morning, but I usually leave about 8am. 100k is too big a leap for me yet. Still trying to crack 50k. Ill wave as you go by Excuses are like arseholes! Everybody has one and they all stink! - Lance Armstrong .

Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride ThreadDont forget the famous "Richmond Bakery Wednesdsay Morning Ride" leaving the carpark behind the bakery at 9>00 sharp every Wednesday morning. The ride is 62km, with a session at the Bakery on return. Most riders are in the 50 and over age bracket, however anyone who can ride 60km is welcome.
Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride ThreadI don't think I have anything on this Wednesday, no job interviews and very few jobs to apply for. if I can make it I will come down. Not sure I can keep up with you though! lets do the 20kTT more my riding style!

Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride Thread
Good ride at Richmond today. Seven riders, beautiful sunshine, and of course Richmond Bakery on our return. One of the riders was a visitor from Ballarat, Rodney, on a flat bar bike with MTB type wheels. He visits every year. I hope he never brings his road bike; we could be in for a caning!
Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride ThreadHad a good ride out to Granton return this morning. Think I may have passed Barry going the other way on the return leg. I'm gonna head out with the DOME guys on Tuesday morning, If anyone else would care to join?

Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride Thread
Cam, why not join the DOME riders for pretty much the same ride, same time -- except it starts at DOME in Sandy Bay. I hope to be there. Still young enough to win the Tour de France
Re: The Tasmanian Find a Ride ThreadMight do just that! What speed do they normally average?
