I knew the group would work against me on Water Tower as was indicated by the subtle hints for OurBelovedLeader to attack.

However I learnt that Master6 can sit a wheel and wont come to the front...however I have tactics........I can't use them all in the first few rides

Hmmmm. Methinks that the theory that this is not a race is under some threat. Nice ride in a brisk breeze. I thinkthe tactics for next "ride" are pretty simple - put RobRollin on the front for the last 15kms!

Maybe we should say it is a "cruise ride" and any and all attacks will be nullified by the team of PMM

Yes bazsand. Start in the carpark behind Richmond Bakery at 9.00 am sharp. One of the few cycling events anywhere that start on time. Rod missed it at 9.01am a couple of weeks ago.

Ok as soon as I get my first road bike and get up to speed with it (soo keen!). Me and a couple mates might join you if thats ok. We're all young guys (16-18)

I dont know what your cycling ability is; PMM sent along a fella of your age, Hugh, and he gave us a caning. Do a few rides to become accustomed to your bike, if this is going top be your first road bike, and make sure that you are comfortable over about 50 km. Our ride is usually 63km, and with the assistance of a bit of drafting, you will handle that Ok. Coffee at the end, and you will get to hear the latest excuses from some of us for lacklustre performance!!

Hi Jinger. Don't be put off by speed or distance. You don't even have to drink coffee - we have at least one tea drinker, one milk drinker and one Gatorade man. There are any number of excuses that come out every ride why someone can't keep up or they are so strong that they have to ride with one leg. This is a good fun bunch so come along and join the fun. There's a few elegant riders, such as master6, who will pass on many years of cycling experience so there are other side benefits as well.

Cheers guys, I look forward to it. I'll get my bike in about 3 weeks hopefully and maybe start with you guys as soon as the new year comes. I'm always enthusiastic about coffee so just more reason to come along I guess!

I would love to join on this ride day to alas the evil corporation I work at won't let me disappear for a wed morning. Hopefully I can go on the one week I get off over Xmas.

Hi all. For those keeping an eye on this thread - the annual "two coffee gentlemen's ride" happens on Wednesday the 28th of December (normal start time of 9:00:00.000am). We will head down to Orford for the first coffee and back to Richmond for the second. There's a couple of undulations each way and the pace is generally slower than normal - but it is holiday time! Distance is 55kms each way.

BAM I am in on this one. This is during my scheduled 1 week of leave. Which I am lucky to get because my current leave balance is only at 12hrs

Sir, I ask that you pace us all the way to Orford, over BustMeGall, Break Me Neck and Charlies.......

Now that I have set the course and raised expectations that I will lead all the way and push everyone up all the hills, I suppose I should note that I won't be there - off scouting the roads of the North-West with a view to the round Tassie February ride in 2013. I hope your suffering in my absence will be short-lived.

Actually Ive pulled the pin, well my work did this Wednesday but Im a started for the 7th Dec.

how far do you usually go on this ride. I was going to come tomorrow.
