I like to investigate new routes, mostly because I'm a bit of an explorer.
Using various mapping websites (Google, OpenStreetMap, etc) I sometimes come across a route that looks exciting, but find that it's inaccessible for the bike I'm on at the time, or it's a private road.
Right now, I'm looking at Nicholls Rivulet Road, which runs from just north of Oyster Cove, to just south of Cygnet. It's Route Number is C626.
Does anyone know if this is sealed? Looking at the satellite images, it's just too hard to tell.
The C627 just to the south is definitely sealed.
I'm intending to do the loop incorporating both of these roads.
Has anyone ridden...

Definitely sealed, great road surface, great road for riding. Love the climb and the descent (either direction).
Whereas C627 is full of potholes and nasty, but has a great steep climb to start from Woodbridge.

Still young enough to win the Tour de France

Fantastic. This may well be my next weekend ride!
Would you suggest the steeper route first? Or work my way up to it?
Incidentally, I went up Garden Island Creek Road a while back. Definitely MTB only.
If you take a wrong turn, like I did, it's extremely steep and mossy. A LOT of it is walking/hiking up, but makes a fun decent.

I'd ride the full loop round on the Channel Highway in preference to Woodbridge Rd (C627), mostly because the descent towards Gardners Bay was so potholed last time I rode it. The climb from Woodbridge to the summit would be a nice little detour on the way...
Nichols Rivulet Rd is just great though.

So I finally did Nichols Rivulet Road!
I really enjoyed it. The gradient isn't too steep and the scenery is nice.
Shame I almost had a blow-out due to the 32C heat, which slowedmy descent somewhat.
To get there, I went down Pelverata Road, which is also a nice ride. However, the dirt section was unexpected and hairy in places.
