Tasmanian Bike Count
Posted: Mon Feb 27, 2012 1:01 pm
Is anyone getting involved in this?
Bike Tas and Cycling South are having trouble filling a number of positions in the Northern Suburbs.
It's really important that data about cyclists is gathered and processed so it can be presented to local and state governments.
Anyone who's interested, especially those who commute that way, please read the info below and sign up.
It happens between 7and 9am on Tuesday, 13th March.
Here is the info from Cycling South:
Cycling South councils have been collecting annual data on the number of riders using various routes around Greater Hobart for the past 3 years. The data helps us to monitor trends and growth in cycling. In the past we have joined the Bicycle Network in a national count but this year we will be doing it by contracting Bicycle Tasmania. There are 51 sites across the region and we are looking for people to pick a site and count riders from 7am to 9am on Tuesday 13th March.
The sites that do not yet have counters are:
Austins Ferry - Abbotsfield Rd and Main Rd
Claremont - Cycleway at Main Rd/Windermere
Berriedale - Berriedale Rd at Main Rd
Glenorchy - Main Rd at Chapel St
Glenorchy-Tolosa St at Bowden St
Goodwood - Goodwood Rd and Howard Rd
Kingston - Roslyn Avenue at Algona Road
Rosny Park - Bligh Street at Gordons Hill Road
Bellerive - Clarence St at Wentworth St
