Postby fidjit » Thu Apr 18, 2013 4:29 pm

First post here so be gentle :)

Returning 45+ something rider here ........

Is the North South Track 700c fitted bike capable like the Trek DS, Giant Roam or Specialized Cross Trail, or do you need something a bit "chunkier" ?

Thanks in advanced.

Sure, provided you don't mind hammering the brakes the whole way down and taking it really easy. Frankly I don't think that'd be much fun though.

I rode down the North South Track on my cyclocross bike with 32c tyres and while it's doable, it wasn't overly pleasant for the most part. I'd suggest taking the MTB :)

If you can't get a MTB, which I suggest for N-S. I would look at the Pipeline track from Fern Tree. It has gentle grades and is perfect for the type of bike you mention.
