Where is the "LIKE" button on BNA?AndrewTTas wrote:It appears to be more than a rumour that the Mighty DFBTR Dictator Paul B, may be temporarily 'off line' in the short term. I hope I speak for all who have witnessed his might deeds, when I wish him a speedy return to velo-awesomeness (if I can get this, my first post, to work).

Thanks for the thought guys. Yep, will be out of action as I undergo a year long drug programme that may ... or may not result in restoration to good health. Hopefully once I settle into treatment I will be able to enjoy some short easy rides.master6 wrote:Where is the "LIKE" button on BNA?AndrewTTas wrote:It appears to be more than a rumour that the Mighty DFBTR Dictator Paul B, may be temporarily 'off line' in the short term. A mid ride break for coffee was had at the Sorell Mens Shed. Did you know that you can have endless coffee four days per week for $2 per week.
Note that I did not use the words "good" and "coffee" in the same sentence .
Oh for a real cappuccino machine
..............and then the ride continued....................to.....................Dodges Ferry of course

Today "T" stood for "Tuesday", and off we went
7.30am was cool , not as in "cool baby", more as in "coold sport"!
Ah,well, the ride home was nicely warm.

Coffee at the Halfway House, a good debate, and homeward bound. The sprint onto Iron creek was a beauty, with Redheeler taking the honours
Must have been laced coffee, as the victorious heeler seemed to be heading in the opposite direction to the second placegetter.............
Oh.............how the DFBTR grabs the imagination

And technically DFBTR could stand for Tuesday, and passing Red Heeler could count as bunch for a second or so, and I did actually ride to, and stop in Dodges. 73km return trip from Lauderdale. Not very many riders out today. Very breezey. And quite wet across the Midway Point causeways, with sea spray. Riding inclined at 45 degrees was also quite novel. In all most satisfactory. Anticipating good weather for tomorrows RBWR, the high point of Australia's riding social calender. Maybe the riders from the National's will come and watch US. ....Maybe.

I can confirm that they are almost always "mornings", but the day of the week, and the departure times are all over the place like a mad wom...............are we still allowed to say that?AndrewTTas wrote:Master6, are any of these epic quarter centuries on Thursday Mornings at 09:00:00?
Thursdays are currently less likely than other days, as, due to a noise complaint/s from the ol girls next door, I do the grinding work on my panel van restoration when they are both out shopping on Thursdays.
I am nearing the end of rust repairs, so that might soon change.

All those rumours that you try to expand upon are obviously correct master6.
See you on Wednesday - leaving at 9:00:00.000 - or with the gentlemen about 5 minutes early.

Dunalley has certainly changed since the last time I was there, in the aftermath of the major bush fire. Much completed, and continuing reconstruction.
A brief refuel at the bakery, and on to complete the loop via the foreshore route. Quite a short cut I have to say. Short sections of dirt road, with occasional corrugations. Easily managed on the Roadie.
Pretty uneventful return. A century plus ride completed at a relaxed pace. Quiet roads in good condition, mild weather, great scenery, I LOVE IT HERE!

Perhaps we should arrange a christmas reunion at the Dodges Ferry branch of the famous Richmond Bakery.

I don't have a December roster yet, so can't commit to, what would be a great idea. I did make a roster request for Sally's Ride, and will be attending the Tour de Norfy. See you at either M6? RedH?

I may appear to be entranced in 'the zone' and don't always acknowledge other cyclists, but I have had a lot of things on my mind over the past 6 months and some days use my cycling as a means of thinking things through.
During October I have been cycling as part of the Great Cycle Challenge 2014, I set my km target at 1750 kms and along the way I have been raising funds to help find a cure to kids cancers. Its run by the Children's Medical Research Institute. You may have seen the jersey I have been wearing for this great cause.

Who can we invite to a socially upmarket event in Dodges?
Redheeler
AndrewT
Master6
PaulB might be able to get there; I will call him.
Dave
Terry
Do we have a phone number for Dave.......please pm to me if so.
Who else?
We need to make the coffee the centre piece of the reunion...........cycling is just an excuse, and should be kept to a minimum in terms of distance and effort
Speak to me folks......
