I, like master6, was up and dressed in lycra at 8am when the rain came tumbling down. :( Gave up at 9am realising the rain had settled in and went grocery shopping. Only pleasing thing about it is it's topping up the tanks.

Hoping to get out tomorrow ! :)

I am committed to a student group at the Sorell Mens Shed on Fridays. Might ride in tomorrow if weather permits.

Hello Redheeler, my morning degenerated into a supermarket visit this morning too.

What time are you planning to ride to Sorell tomorrow if the weather permits?

I will leave home at 7.45am if the weather is ok, however the forecast does not look good

"rain from early morning/ 80% chance of 2 to 8 mm" is what BOM predict.

That does not look too promising :(

forecast and radar look grim for this morning Paul. Should we postpone, and review at 12.30 re prospects for afternoon?

I reckon we are pretty flexible Redheeler. The forecast seems to indicate that the longer we wait, the better the conditions. Can you let us know when you have the bike back, and we can plan from there.

Weather is improving, and radar is very encouraging. I am about to enjoy my scallop pie for lunch.

Waiting on your advice Redheeler

Back with bike. :D How greasy is Carlton River Rd going to be after all this rain?

Ok. I am going to have an hours snooze, and see you at the bakery at 2pm. If redheeler needs more time, we could delay it a bit.

ps redheeler is back!

Road will be ok.. we have had over 30mm of rain, so road will be cleaned. Light drizzle on oily roads is what causes slipping.
We will be OK.

See you at the bakery at 2.00

Certainly a winters day, but still an enjoyable ride around the Primrose circuit, even if Paul did get lost along the way. But he smelt coffee and met us back at the bakery.
Back for another run next week. :D

Yes it was a ride that may well have not happened due to the inclement conditions. Despite the radar indicating all was clear, the rain in my face as I left home to meet the crew at the bakery told a different story. Upon meeting the assembled riders the rain was still coming down (lightly) and the decision was made to press on regardless, and a god decision it turned out to be as the rain cleared within a couple of minutes and did not reappear till we were just about back at the coffee spot. And yes, I did manage to get lost :-> Having pulled away from the crew I turned into a side street in order to make a u turn and wait for them to catch up, however, whilst my back was turned they zipped past and I ended up backtracking to find them, not realising they were leaving me way behind :-) Not to worry, I arrived for coffee jut a couple of minutes after the bunch and we all had a laugh at my expense :-) Next week will be even better with fine weather expected.
