Early Campag Chorus 8 speed groupset ...fairly weathered but for the price, nice.

That looks like it would restore pretty nicely. No frame size measurements given though and it looks a tad small for me.hazarama wrote:Not one of the usual [Italian] suspects.
A Gianni Motta with starting price of $50 is pretty sweet.

Maybe. If it works. Doesn't appear to be in the best condition and it's only Veloce/Mirage level stuff. As far as the frame is concerned it has a bit of rust to clean up and as you say, there's no panto's so it doesn't get collectors excited. Anyway, we all know complete bikes sell for less than the sum of their parts...contrary to what many Gumtree/ebay sellers seem to think. I'll be interested to see what it goes for.bog1953 wrote:The group set alone would be worth $150+, the frame $200.

Actually, Tom Wallace Cycles is still running. It sells Giants now, but it is still on the main road in Lutwyche, where it has been since the 1970s.find_bruce wrote:Tom Wallace lived from 1902 till 1981 so would have been in his 70s

That's an interesting one. Genuine vintage Italian for sure, hand painted - Aussie style. Wonder what the name on the top tube is?feelthewheel wrote:Looks to be genuine vintage Atala under this repaint and generic stickers. Early 50's perhaps?
