I can understand your disappointment, being able to buy what you were after rather than the exciting task of recreating it from scratch
History suggests however that you are going to use the NOS ones to make a mould for casting urethane copies.
I wonder whether the poor spelling was the cause of non-post - he typed austrailia into a postage calculator & came up empty.

Yes, the NOS ones will be used for reproducing some for use.
I was trying to understand why he didn't post to Australia. Spelling was one, but he may suffer from Thalassophobia.

just rebuilding this after the Photobucket disaster and can add to the thread
I have acquired a set of originals, in sound condition (stored in a dark room, in dark box)
They may be able to withstand making a mould.
They have been done in alternate colours.
Colours are limited because of the withdrawal of previous mixes for health and safety. The new chemicals are not colour fast!
So new colour choices are limited with my manufacturer.
And an extract from the 1956 Shockstop brochure I purchased

Those hoods look great that you have made. Having reverse-engineered some parts myself i know how much effort goes into such things.
What do these hoods cost and could you send some to the UK? Or is someone over here already selling them?
Thanks, my 1950 Paris will be better for some new hoods.
Richard

The reason I made them was that nobody else was doing them.
Yes to sending them to the UK.
There are a number there already.
I will PM for your details.

Just happened to notice the honking rubbers in this photo of Vern Tapp from 1953. There certainly would have been plenty of "honking" on the route from Queenstown to Hobart.

I too would like some of your honking rubbers for my ‘49 Gillott and my Bates. As a newbie I can’t pm yet though.
