Picked this up on the side of the road. Don't know if its a junker but I like the "Star" detailing on it and the rusty copper metallic colour. Might turn it into a single speed

have a Malvern Star 1980 Moscow Olympic model roadster which looks pretty much the same as the SuperStar SL(not sure on the International bit) the main difference being the Moscow 80 has Shimano 12 speed running gear rather than 10 speed (i think) SunTour but frame/fork look identical - if anyone can link to any Malvern Star catalogues for the period that would be great - when I first got it did some hunting around the internet - didn't find much but here's an article with a guy waxing lyrical about his SuperStar SL and includes an unfortunately bit blurred contemporary pic of the bike he owned in 1980
http://www.perthvintagecycles.com/2010/ ... or-me.html
unfortunately the pic' is now missing from the guy's post .. has caption but blank - I pasted it into a word doc last year so here it is double blurred I suspect:
1980 Malvern Star Superstar SL from perthvintagecycles blog contemporary pic
My Moscow 1980 bought off ebay from a bike shop - had been taken in for new front tyre but never collected - looks like been little used - guess just sat in a shed and then given to someone who wouldn't pay to get it roadworthy - restoration was pretty easy just surface rust and solid grease in the bearings
and marketing BS that translates as "made from gas pipe" pretty sure the Olympic Athletes weren't on 16kg bikes!
hope someone can help with the frame number logic and looks a great find
