My christmas pressie finally arrived! This is what I bought myself for christmas. Swing Bike made in 1975. Took me forever to find one as the ones that sell on ebay always sell for a fortune. Unfortunately it is missing a few parts ie; badges, guards etc and chances are I will never find any but I love it. Can't say I am game to ride it in case the forks dont hold up. The rear end where the wheel is moves from side to side. They tried to ban them in the 70's as kids kept hurting themselves on them. The company made them for only a few years before going broke.

Yes only a few years. They were advertised at the time on the Donny and Maree Osmond show. No way will I go on utube! The forks were renowned for trouble so I dont dare wreck it or get myself on video.- Probably end up being more for funniest home videos with me crashing! I also have a raleigh chopper here and I dont know how people used to ride them!
That makes bikes like this look tame!
Ahh, the old dragsters. I never had one of them, I had a RACER. A real one too, an old track frame that I rebuilt and we put GEARS on it. Yup, a three speed cassette with a derailleur

I used to have one of those in gold. Memories...
I come from the poor end of town, couldn't afford a dragster.
I've seen a picture of your rear wheel turning bike a couple of months ago, its a great looking piece of machinary. Would love to see it in real life. I work at North Sydney, not far from you? I've got stuff on ebay
Hey Mike,
I couldn't afford a dragster as a kid either. My bike was one I put together out of all different parts I had found. To me it was the coolest looking BMX in town. (Bright yellow - definately not cool!) Obviously thats where I caught the bike bug back then. I only recently obtained my dragsters. (Have four-shhh!) The first three I found in throw outs and was hooked on them after that. The malvern a friend gave me as he had it in his shed for years. You are welcome to see the bikes but I am out near Parramatta, not North Sydney. Karen.
