Caboulture powder coaters will do it for $60. Do a good job including masking the threads but have a limited range of colours.

More progress,
Actually it should have been finished tonight only my KMC710 chain was 4 links short of joining up. That was a little disappointing to say the least.

So far here are the costs

Tyres $18.50
Cranks $20
Cotter pins $4
Power coat $75
Brake cables $6
Levers $15
Calipers $15
Single speed freewheel $18
Saddle - spares bin
Bar tape - spares bin
KMC chain $21
Pedals $45

$237.50 not too bad I suppose

Thanks very much I got a bit lazy toward the end,

Some of the bits were pretty average to start with

The stem got 120git sandpaper on the mouse sander until all the gouges went away, then worked back to 240 on the mouse, then 300 then 1000
then autosol with a cloth - I didn't use the bench polisher on it just came up so well without.

Brake calipers, took them apart and used 300 grit sand paper, worked back to 1200 and then gave them a light buff with autosol.

Autosol polish is by far the best I have used, a bit pricey, I paid $18 for 333g tin of it.

People tell me that steel rusts and that's a problem when it comes to bicycles. How come everyone's "rain bike" is always an old steelie? CF afraid to get wet?

 Too precious. I suppose when you've spent that much money on something so fragile..
