Euro Sport Pista - Looking for its History

Postby rogerrabbit » Fri May 29, 2009 9:12 pm

Hi, I acquired this yesterday. I am not sure at all of its age but I assume 90's. It was originally an AIS bike according to the seller, and he bought it as a frameset around 2000 - 2002 from a rider who got it from the AIS.

It has a VERY high bottom bracket at 29.5cm, with a 60cm ctt seat tube with a 58cm ctc top tubeIt is a steel frame, quite unmarked apart from a couple of chips on the top tube that have been touched up. The "webbing" is also steel, and very nicely finished. It is not a lightweight thing, and I am told it was a sprint bike. The chap I bought it off was a sprinter.

Interestingly it has a pair of #14 Cinelli bars on it (1960's) because he like the shape!

Has anyone seen a frame like this that could give me a bit of info on it?

Wow. Nice find Roger!

That webbing reminds me of a Cinelli Laser.

I'd be contacting Sean Eadie who would be able to tell you straight off who rode that bike. It looks very familiar too.

Call Cycling NSW. I think he still coaches for them, but if not he's always down at Dunc Grey. He'll also be at Friday Night Winter Track Racing at some point I'm sure.
