Kuwahara Lo-Pro with Suntour Sprint. I would get this myself if it were a touch smaller. I think it's got a 700c rear wheel and a 27" front wheel. I wonder which size wheel the frame was made for.

Jack was a clever man when it came to business. From the articles I've read and the tales I've heard from those who knew and raced with him, I suspect the bike was just a random bike used as a publicity stunt to get customers to his store. I called by his store a few times and yes the bike looked the part but who was still alive to confirm his claims?

I'd have thought it was weighing in kg (yes I know kg are not a measure of weight, they are a unit of mass) treating them as pounds and converting to kg again.

With no-one on the scales they would read approx -6kg.

Lots of people care about weight. If you had no idea of the model designation then the weight could be useful to help work out if the bike is decent or junk.

That is lovely, although I'm not so sure about the carbon bar. Replace that with say a Nitto Urban Riser or maybe something with a bit of sweep like the Nordeast and that would set it off beautifully.

I work on the principle that if it's older than 1975 I don't need to own it or know anything about it. It looked ready for the tip in my opinion but then someone would have found it, had no idea, joined up here and then we'd be back into it again.
