i think it's a bit much for what it is (mid level, modern campag with a fancy finish), but that c-grey finish seems to scratch up so easily, i can see a nos groupset being worth a motza in years to come.

I don't get that no-one in melbourne's bid on this, for the price. Double-butted... some cosmetic stuff, but not too bad. A smidgin too big for me, or I'd be prevailing on SIL in Armadale to collect it.
Well, no, it's not a pushbike, otherwise I'd be pushing it...

I use GIXEN. web based, free, never seems to miss a beat. Sniper programs work well, I have no doubt that a bid in the last few seconds is more likely to get you a win at the price you want that an early bid or [shudder] an early bidding war. and as a bonus there is no need to watch the end of the auction which eliminates the chances of putting a silly last minute bid on in the heat of the moment.

Would someone mind confirming that this is at the gas-pipe end of Clarence St Cyclery's range at the time.
Still on the lookout for my 5'2" work colleague(ette). Budget limited, but trying to compromise with something halfway decent for her. She'll be using it as exercise, not commuting.

There's gaspipe under that there rust.

But it does have some halfway decent equipment on it. Probably not a bad bike at the current bid ($20).

Thanks for the confirmation. Oh, I love that it's a cycling bike. Wouldn't have bothered looking at it if it weren't. :|
Don't mind the randonneur bars though.

Interesting retro MTB:

No idea what it is. Rear brake looks unique, may provide a clue to someone?

No idea on the MTB (cool colour though), but i'd much rather have the Giant Allegre road bike he's selling. No way i'd pay what he's asking though.

Easy to date and a nice complete gruppo from 1990ish but might take some searching to get a manufacturer that put the u brake there. Gt was over the stay and Centurion, Shogun others were usually under the chain stays. Haro? But I think they usually had a curvy top tube and few have that low top tube standover design. I'd buy it for a C if it was close because of that nice fork.

No, its in very neat condition. It got me wondering so I looked back through an old MTB Action mag. Definitely 1990 but nothing had that design. The paint made me think of the Taiwanese manufacturer ads that were in that mag and they were that kind of paint but not that design...maybe even a local builder or mtb enthusiast making up something to get the standover. Ewen Gellie would be the bloke to ask.
Damn now I want it!

 It's the bell curve distribution thingy. May not get much for it; there aren't enough giants who cycle, and want retro. Nice though.

Fleabay. Can someone explain the Best Seller rating, when only 177 trades, and 98.x% :?:

Click on the 177 and you go to the users Feedback Profile, then you'll see.

Code: Select all

slanted-enchanted ( 177 * )

Positive Feedback (last 12 months): 98.9%
[How is Feedback percentage calculated?]
Clicky clicky.

Code: Select all

The positive Feedback percentage is calculated based on the total number of positive and negative Feedback ratings for transactions that ended in the last 12 months, excluding repeat Feedback from the same member for purchases done within the same calendar week (eBay time).

Note: This could mean that the number of ratings used for this calculation is different from the same number shown in the recent ratings table on the left.

Positives / (Positives + negatives)

This member's 12 month Feedback ratings
Positives: 92 Negatives: 1

This member's positive Feedback percentage

92 / (92 + 1) = 98

I recall somebody on this forum was looking for a small frame for their better half, this wouldn't be a bad buy.

Lovely frame, but if anyone is interested check first if this is one of the small frame sizes that had a 26" or 24" front wheel.
Would still be an excellent little frame, but be informed before making the purchase.

If had the spare cash and a frame to put it in I'd snap it up.

This is kind of funny as I just pulled my asc out of a pile of junk I've had for years in orde to fix it up. Came from a bloke who raced in England before cming to Australia mid fifties and mine is dated 1952 so I'd guess he broke it down and brought it with him as a prized item. I doubt it has been used since and had some very ugly looking oil in it. Looking forward toseeing how it works if I can get it back together!! They do actually seem to be rare though I remember reading on the Sunrace blogsite that they were going to make a new one.
