went a bit mad with the patina stick for my liking.
such a shame it wasn't rescues 25 years ago.
now whomever buys it is faced with deciding on keeping a very rough looking original frame, or losing all of its history by repainting it.

I reckon if you were REALLY keen and wanted to put a huge amount of time into it you could avoid a full repaint and just restore what's left, like restoring an old painting.

The frame might not be too special but if it was local i would definitely buy it just for the parts.

That's a relief, port racks and stem shifters are really underrated

Those are SunTour Power Shifters, they actually work quite well. But i was mainly looking at the V (or maybe VX) GT rear derailleur, Sugino cranks and centrepull brakes, i don't care what make they are, centrepulls are cool :) .

The europa is not bad really, probably a centurion frame rather than a typical kmart road king. Under $100 is the right money though.

but really, that's rubbish. We get none of it because the choices are illusory.

I see your point.

This one time at band camp I had a bad experience with stem shifters and it really hurt, so I tend to avoid them now (as I didn't manage to do at the time). As a result any bicycle fitted with such will be low in my opinion.

Ah, well a while back there i was commuting on a 1986 Univega SupraSport which had stem shifters (which worked really well), wasout of the saddle moving away from a set of lights and my knee bumped the right shifter, spitting chain off the bottom of the freewheel. So went from plenty of resistance to none at all, lost my balance and most of the skin off my shoulder blade.

Still better than Sora brifters! :P

Don't know what you guys are so skeptical about - Pinarello are notorious for making low end junk with suicide levers & stem mounted shifters

Notice how the ad is worded sneakily so that if you come back later and say that the BB does affect riding performance, the advertiser can point out that he had correctly claimed that no riding performance could be effected with this setup.

That bike has the longest chainstays of any Pinarello I've seen.

The ad would be slightly more correct if the word "Pinarello" in the title was shifted to occur just after the work "Orbea".
