More likely delusional - no way is a near bottom-end Peugeot worth anywhere near that much.
It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.

seller could drop the price $200 a week for 3 weeks and someone will think they've snared a bargain. win/win. 8)

thats why im still (relatively) happy to be a bottom feeder, with a love of bikes, but not a fecking idea of margins and high(er) end worth or appreciation. Ignorance is often bliss :-(

The seller could drop the price by $200 a week for FIVE weeks and it still wouldn't be a bargain. IMHO it worth $150 but that's only if the seller gives it a really good clean.
It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.

But it's "fully loaded"! Maybe the panniers are stuffed with cash / stolen jewelry / drugs / something else valuable

Hmm what to believe, the crooked 531 sticker on the seat tube or the 501 stickers on the chainstays. I'm pretty sure they came out with 501 tubeset.

I have a US forum 'mate', (work related), whom I'm trying to help out in sourcing an 80s steelie. Nothing flash, doesn't want to pay too much. Very flat where he is, and pretty much summer riding only.
Have noticed US fleabay has very few bikes under 'road bikes'. Unlike here, there was not anything much sub 200 dollars, and then not too many anyway. I've suggested to him that maybe craiglist is the place to go.
Anyone got thoughts on this. Anyone know of traders who have cheaper-but-not-crap, over there?

He's in small town southern Illinois, so would have to be a shipper.

Well, no, it's not a pushbike, otherwise I'd be pushing it...

[url= (the url) ] then you put your other description here, and finish with the [ /url] bit - try quoting one from an earlier thread to see how it goes together.
