I can see an Alpinestars cro-mega MTB in there as well as some other gems. To bad about the external storage conditions.

haha Yeah I was thinking of sending a message to explain that's not exactly what's going on there. In the end I thought why ruin a great laugh with the truth.xerlex wrote:I love this line:Tinker wrote:I love this ad.

That listing's been up for quite some time (wonder why? ) and it used to have a little rant on the end about people trampling the garden and making a mess .

Their backyard was pretty big and there were at least 4 - 6 rows of bikes like this. Generally they were at the basic end, nothing to get too excited about. She wasn't doing the $55 listings back then, but I would be very surprised if they missed something decent and you manage to pick up a bargain.

It must be an old photo then because there is some good stuff in there.jools wrote:I bought my apollo iv from her a few years ago and yes she and her partner know what they are doing. The good stuff gets auctioned off individually and in this listing $55 gets you a dunger...

Unless they are all stuffed.

If the weather fines up in the next weekend or two I might try and do a scouting run to check out what is available for the $55 asking price, but I would be surprised if there was a pearl amongst the swine

Think this a tip off of an old MTB ad from Craigslist or somewhere (even down to the pic in the bed)Typhoon Ken wrote:Not sure how long it will last because of the swearing in the ad but it's a different way to sell a bike. View item

"selling due to we do not use it any more , we got 3 cars." Is this an attempt to gain sympathy from prospective buyers? I know I feel sorry for him/her that the burdon of owning so many cars restricts their ability to keep fit and enjoy the mobility a bike offers.

Hear hear, one person's loss is another person's gain and what a gain it is! If this were nearby I would snap it up in a heartbeat.LG wrote:An old peugeot MTB, nothing fancy, but it's a peugeot http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/mountain-bik ... 201wt_1400" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

jools wrote:I get the impression from the listing that they have a range of bikes that they will sell for $55, whether or not that includes a decent bike, I don't know. If it does I would suspect then that it is in fairly poor condition. When I was there to pick up the apollo I spotted a raleigh twenty and a bsa 20. The bsa was complete but in fairly poor condition and she wanted $200 for it. Not long after this I bought a twenty from someone else on ebay in better condition for under $60.

These are the sydneyvintagebike guys. The boom is over, no more buyers for $600 fixed up ladies bikes so I guess they are shifting the inventory. They know what stuff is worth so there won't be any bargains.

I'd love to see them ride their own product. As is.TedDancin wrote:I know this isn't really retro, but it is steel, and is probably the most offensive thing I've come across while browsing the classifieds. Makes Reid's look like works of art. Check out the weight.

Seriously how do you get something so basic to weigh that much? I've had bikes with steel rims that were lighter.
