Suitable for track use? :?: Surely misleading info like this shouldnt be allowed?

Got to love the 'track' cranks on it.
Not cycle related but I think this Ebay item is a good example of what should happen if an item is poorly described . At least the seller has the courage to display the questions , probably to the detriment of the sale .

Initially I thought it was a strange frame to put that much work into, but I've thought about it, and now I reckon it's going to sell for heaps.

Let's see if it beats this price though.

Hmmm, almost my size too.

There are some great frames out there, but some of them go for crazy prices. Well, outta my budget at the moment anyway.

bit high for me at that price, especially given it's far too big, but damn, look at those pristine rims. Pristine everything really.

Remember that clown who came onto this forum and hijacked my Colnago Saronni thread?

He's selling the bike he bought for $363.40, and with 2 days to go, it's only $0.99. Let's see if he makes his money back... I doubt it, especially since he had to transport the bike from Victoria to Queensland, and spent $50 on the wrong decals.

Interesting that he is using basically the same pictures and text as the original seller.

Wonder if kevinwulf is still interested in picking up the bike cheaply?

just looks like he has his location set incorrectly, which should help the selling price a lot. I was a little bit interested when it turned up in my within 200km search, but yeah, I guess it's not.

An interesting motorpace bike from Switzerland... I wonder what those 2 extra supports are for? Wind vibration?

The crook of the week:. Sure it's a Colnago...

The dreamer of the week. He painted his old bike orange, so now it's worth 10 times as much!

I don't understand the point of making the bike a replica when the frame is not even made by the correct manufacturer. Wouldn't he of been better off doing up the old frame and reapplying the original frame manufacturers decals.

The others you can keep, what is that titanium thing anyway? but that motorpace bike is just brutal. I'd need to be at 40kmh just to spin the crank over and I'd never get it turning anyway. Eeeek.

The supports are just that, bracing against the rather serious forces on a banked track when hitting the curves at 80kmh. One slipping bar stem and it's all over. Which brings me to ask, is that a Campagnolo Sheriff Star front wheel hub radially laced???? I'm sorta wondering at the stiffness of the build and the forces it would have to endure. Scary !! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !!.

Yeah, I think you're right.
I did a Colnago frame in Molteni orange just recently and was going to go all out with Merckx decals. On second thoughts my plan chenged as to me it looked a bit fraudulant so I brightened up the colour to a more intense orange so not to be confused and will re apply Colnago decals.

this - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT looks pretty shiny, though I suspect it will go for more than I'd be willing to pay

Here's a goody: A mountain bike frame that's been bent to take a 700c wheel...

How dodgy do the rear dropouts look?

Just guessing, it wasn't pulled early was it? sometimes someone offers a price and the seller ends the auction before there are any bids and sells it off-line?
Yep! Pulled early. Had some bids, but then it was gone.

I saw that listing too.

I think it was a case of someone just having to have it at all costs. They are not easy to find NOS but I didnt think it would go that high. My complete skidstar cost less than that.

Well done to the seller. I am sure they are smiling and didnt expect it to reach that much.

Karen.

No, a modified road bike frame. The Shogun Samarai was a road bike and a pretty good one at that.

Sorry, I didn't read it properly...

"This is my 1992 Shogun Samurai I modified to rear drop outs and modified the seat tube so the tyre runs in a groove (depression) in the seat tube. Also shortened the chain stays and fitted the seat stays behind the seat tube instead of on the sides."

Methinks he shortened the chainstays, and then couldn't fit the wheel in... And then another moron paid far too much for it... :o

Might be that, behind a pacer, for very long races, on the track, at 100Kph+ there are massive downward G-forces,
they may be support, for seat/bar position and strength, you don't want breakage, at that speed.
