next time you scoff at silly prices for retro bikes, have a look at this:
http://www.ozbmx.com.au/index.php?showtopic=62924" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
$4000 bmx.
i had one of these in high school, which cost my dad $100 second-hand.

Getting close to s-1 so I thought better of putting in minimum bid as it would have been something to tune up and on sell, unless better than my current stable. I missed one recently that didn't sell first time round for $50, then second time it went for over $100.

A few days late, but current stats: 4771 posts and 153093 views (We sure got a lot of time on our hands). Easily the most active topic in the Retro section eclipsing my other favorite, the Repco Appreciation Society at 2219 posts but almost as many views at 151673 (obviously a great resource for those researching their "vintage retro oldschool Repco Traveller/Superlite/Bunky" before listing at stupid high prices and ending up in this thread).

From my own stats: Most active topic: eBay prices on the rise, good time to sell old junk? (90 Posts / 13.25% of your posts)
Would've thought it'd be higher considering the amount of times I check it each day when I'm at work.

So proud to be this thread's Daddy. :D

Back on the topic of 'old junk?' love...
I get plenty of enjoyment out of this thread, there is good fun to be had in the depths of eBay and Gumtree junk, plus the chance of a stinking bargain 8) What's not to love?

And down to business:
Mmm, that's cool. If I didn't already have a lovely light touring frame en route I'd be onto that, it has front rack mounts! I don't really think of bikes without canti mounts as "proper" touring bicycles though, it might not even clear 28mm tyres with fenders. Perhaps a nice commuter, or even better, a porteur!

I think SLX would be a little flexy for heavy touring too. I think she's more of an audax bike than anything else.
