ooOOh, I am such a sucker for a big ol' mountain bike. A Centurion nonetheless - in Bianchi Celeste! One of the rims is unoriginal, im'a guess front, and curious lack of top tube cable braze ons, but it looks very pretty. $65 too...just to rub salt on the wound. I request that the new owner dirt drop it for me

Me too, so I checked it out, the seller is just down the road.

I wouldn't get excited. Pretty basic with some mismatched parts. Pressed steel fork ends. No derailleur hanger. Pressed steel hub barrels. Rust has been touched up with paint. Th rear end is out of alignment.

That's a shame. Win some, lose some
Now that you mention it, the model of the derailleur does look more like 'Shimano SIS' than 'Deore DX' as I had originally hoped. Obviously I was wearing my rose tinted glasses

That Nishiki has been rolling around Gumtree for a few weeks, overpriced IMO, considering it has been 'gutted'.
*edit* double checked and it's had a modest price drop, for a nice Champion #2 frame, that's an okay price. (for Melbourne anyway - take the price for anywhere else in Australia, double it, and you've still got a good deal )

This is lovely, what a great mix of parts. Looks to have had a prang at some point.

Anyone know of these bikes? Good stuff in among them, but he has a very gradual customer engagement model.

The Raleigh looks to be in fine condition

Had a chat to him a month or so ago after spotting the same ad. He didn't have much information about what he owned and kept prodding me with "what do you think that's worth" questions. Seemed like a nice enough guy but he's no rider, just seems to own a shed full of bikes. I did get the impression that nothing was going to be cheap. Someone in Brissy needs to go around and investigate.

I'm considering heading that way on Saturday, more out of intrigue than anything else.
