Is it just me or is the top tube slightly bent just behind the headtube lug.....

I'll start the bidding at early 1960s.

It looks a little more modern than my Repco, which consensus said was about 1957-8. Details like the pump pegs. Other than those, the frame is quite similar to mine. Although, mine hasn't been stoved in at the front like this one looks to have been.

Any thoughts?

It's a real bitsa, 105 late 80s derailleur, 600 arabesque cranks (nice), altus FD (junk), Mavic front rim, but rear doesn't have the same boxy Mavic profile....
Those stamped dropouts don't do it much either, although there are the remains of some sort of tubing sticker.

My thoughts are 'meh'. It has a lot of tire clearance for larger tyres and mudguards though, it's a nice colour and you'd pay $50 for a nice set of those cranks, so bid away. Good commuter.

I was going to say BOOOO HISS GET THOSE SUSPENSION FORKS OUT OF MY RETRO THREAD

but that's pretty cool.

Early MTB
Seller says it's Tange Champion and from his measured-from-the-wrong-place measurements I *think* it's something like a 55 ST. He's dreamin' on the price though.
Seriously, these things make such sure footed and fun commuters!

Possibly one of the early variations of Columbus Aelle?
Nice condition and IMHO a good buy at that price or up to $100 if you want a rider.

I reckon it looks more like some Atala decals on a pile of gas pipe.

Looks to me as if it has a shorter wheelbase than originally designed.

Cheers,

Sydney, small frame, no mudguard eyelets, $50. Has (sic) Suntour Cyclops 7000 brakes.

Good buying and worth it for the parts I'd reckon.

I forgot to mention that there's some piece of sh*t, called a Holden, behind the road frame.

This thing is driving me crazy. It's not a Peugeot, I don't know what the hell it is but I want to know. I REALLY WANT TO KNOW. Buuuut it's also 3cm too small for me and it's gone beyond the point that I'm gonna throw money at it to find out. Beyond the average components and Peugeot decals I see some Campy styled vertical dropouts (with some very clean brazing if you look closely in the 7th photo) and some braze on sidepulls! WHAT IIIIIIISSSSSS IT?

If someone on here ends up with it I would love to see some more detailed pics/identifiers.

Why is it not a Peugeot? Looks quite like a mid to upper Pug to me with a few extra bits of componantry..

Cheers

Never heard of a Veloce frame. Looks interesting.

Check the back of the fork crown and brake bridge. The brake bolts have been been blazed onto the frame, I've never seen that on a production frame and only on a few otherwise. Also the campy (styled) vertical dropouts, not a Peugeot thing.

Point taken on the brake bolts, I didn't notice that. Most unusual as you say. There were Pugs made with vertical dropouts but the brake set-up is against it.
