Vintage, yesteryear and retro biking
Somebody's getting very optimistic with the price of their old Softride:

Although, he does have a "make an offer" button. I wonder if he'd entertain an offer with one less zero than his asking price?
I guess there is no harm in trying!
I love all bikes that are different or unique, but these thingys just look wrong
When in doubt......mumble.
I have one that looks wronger (more wrong? whatever....)
The 'aero' forks are just embarrassing (but not heavy surprisingly), especially when as I am no speed merchant these days and tend to cruise around at 30kph on the flat.
Probably why it doesn't get ridden much.
A triple does look kinda funny on a Triathlon bike
I think the technical word you're looking for is wrongerist
That's almost certainly what attracts me to them.
I'd probably ride it about 3 times then hang it in the shed to gather dust.
I'm also fascinated by MTB linkage forks. Just because... linkage forks!
Richard....Thats just doing my head in
I need a panadol ......I wonder if I can photoshop a seatube on it ...Lol.
When in doubt......mumble.
Linkage forks yes, lefty forks NNNOOOO! They hurt my brain, I can't stand looking at them.
I know they're strong, I understand the engineering but I hate the asymmetry & some part me of me just refuses to believe that they can exist & function without skewing the wheel off the bike at the first sight of a bump.
I need some mates to come for a ride. With their wallets!!!

This looks quite good at the moment
Old gets the coin..
Yeap, the Marinoni is gonna go up sharpish. Crap Shimano brake levers though!
MY RIDES: My Velospace Profile
Yeah, i don't think anybody should bid on it with those horrible shimano brake levers. Imagine the mental anguish if you actually bought it had to keep searching for the correct brake levers, it would become all encompassing, your work and family life would suffer, your hair would fall out.
Not worth the risk if you ask me. I recommend that nobody bids on it. Honestly, i'm doing you a favour
I thank the lobster it's too big, can see it getting out of control
And a well used partial gruppo is not worth much anyway. Certainly not worth a bid
Looking at the Marinoni closely its only the gear levers, calipers, cranks without dustcaps and maybe seat post that is 5oth ..probably mechs but we can't see.
Its a long way to pickup tho!
Well he's had an offer of $600 for it so far...
Whoa, when did I become a deity???
Did someone here buy this Look? I think its a Bernard Hinault Look(Reynolds 653). The Tri A is still available for $85 though.

And can anyone confirm if the FD and RD on this are Superbe Pro? Description says its Shimano, but it looks Superbe Pro to me.

Ah, I'm a regular reader, but only discovered the blog recently. Thanks for edumacating me.
I haven't been follwing prices too much lately on ebay but that would be a reasonable offer to me. (I am not bidding but that would be my top offer)
You just wouldn't want to think the campag was worth way too much. The premium is coming for new complete gruppos.
But it is a nice thing to have so just depends on how much you have to spare at xmas I spose. I hope for the seller he gets plenty.
Nope, I can't help. Pics are OK'ish, but not OK enough to get a decent look. That is an OK price for what it looks like. My question would be... where is it in the Centurion hierarchy? Forks look to be badged Tange. Is the frame plain gauge tubing? Either way, Tange I guess. Looks like a Tange label bottom of ST, where bike shop stickers normally go. But I could be wrong-stabbing on that.
Being in Fairlight, it's had it's share of maritime air, and it shows; though any buyer would want to be sure it's surface-only. I can't touch it right now, though tempted to offer him $50.
Someone here with knowledge of Centurion history may still help. At this time of year a lot of people are distracted; be interesting to see how long it hangs on GT.
Well, no, it's not a pushbike, otherwise I'd be pushing it...
