I've been able to 'zoom' in on my big ol' Cinema Display (Cmd +, Cmd +, Cmd +... ). Fork blade is labelled Hi Tensile (Tange). :backinawayslowly:
Well, no, it's not a pushbike, otherwise I'd be pushing it...

I think its a special model designed by Sid Patterson, an Aussie rider and should be Tange 5 frame with hi ten forks. Would fit somewhere around the middle I guess. Back a couple pages, I posted the link to where he was selling two Centurions for $75. He is definite on $70, as appreantly it cost $600 new. However that $70 is already a good price, and would be totally worth it if it were Superbe Pro RD and FD(unless there are other RDs that look similar. I dont know of enough Suntour bits to be sure). Looking at the hubs, it could be a 105 or 600 hubs(ones which had the sticker down the middle)., and the brakes dont look cheapo at all. Someone near Manly wanna go have a look?

QuangVuong wrote:And can anyone confirm if the FD and RD on this are Superbe Pro? Description says its Shimano, but it looks Superbe Pro to me.

Definitely looks Suntour-ish with the RD limit adjusters in that position but given the cage length and general 'look' I think the gears would be from quite a bit lower down the Suntour food chain. Some sort of Cyclone or Alpha maybe?

The crank arm type, inverted... "Sugino"? Click on pic to load an enlargement. RD does look SunTour'ish

Def. Sugino, very similar to the set I run on one of the Apollos.

Unsure about RD.
I don't care if it's a $20 Huffy or a $20k Colnago, if you're riding it, and you like it, it's a worthwhile bike.

A very tidy looking SR Litage, with full Suntour Superbe Pro. Has a reserve price which I imagine would be pretty steep, but so shiny.

Reserve auctions are so stupid. Why can't people just start the auction at the price their willing to sell the bike for? Morons.

I tend to agree but I guess it gives a person some idea of the market (compared to what it is worth to the seller)

Like that seller who has been trying to sell that Shogun Team Issue for $1200 for the last 10 or so months. Probably never sell unless some pidgeon comes across a large wad of cash.

Good god almighty it's the holy grail of eBay listings.

Pick up only a long way from the city.
'Campagnolo gearing' turns out to be 50th Anniversary Super Record.

0 bids.

Seller has ended the auction now.

I am getting very over evilbay - if a buyer is unable to unilaterally withdraw a bid, why is the seller able to do so ?

THere is actually a method to retract bids on ebay. You scroll down and find the site map. Ctrl+F to find Retract a Bid. Gives you the option to retract your bid if you entered in an incorrect value, but it only works outside of 12 hours.

It is very frustrating if you want an item but I have only had it happen very occassionally. It is always the seller who has the power I 'spose.
I was really interested to see what this bike would go for. I'd have probably been bidding if I was in the same state.
What do you reckon was a fair price?

Sold now, but the derailleurs were bugging me. They're Suntour Alpha 5000s, like so:

Apollo III
Interesting looking Kuwahara. Good for a commuter or training bike if nothing else.
Don't think I've ever seen a Cecil Walker with a bolt on hanger and centre pull brakes?

That III looks nice, bit far away tho, and shed is cramped as it is. :( .

The Cecil looks horrible, ugly lugs and pressed dropouts, is it a ring in or did they sell entry level dungas?

Their stickers have popped up on many things over the years, much as Tom Wallace in brisbane would put his stickers on a bike that had been restored by him. The RD is a Huret Eco, and those Weinmann centrepulls do the job nicely. It's far from fancy, but i wouldn't call it a dunga.
When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments- Elizabeth West.
