My GEFSCO uses Tange frame parts and Champion tubing. It is most definitely a Geoff Scott with a Panto seat stays, Ace of spades cut into the thinned lugs and a Ace of Spades cut out in the bottom bracket.

Can't see any pantographing or cutouts on the one in that ad...

Not all are like that. My point is that Geoff did use Tange tubing and frame parts. Infinity is a budget tube set and budget means no fancy lug work or Pantographing.

Anyone have an idea on the longevity of the Ti>Al bonding process? Length of life... stuff like that?

Miyata

I picked up a bonded tube miyata frame over xmas, very nice indeed. Cable passes thru the top tube which is a slight oval , its a neat quirky frame....I will try to post a pic soon

Would like to see a pic. The one in USA looks very nice.

Pics....yes, 0.47seconds after the pic was taken, the cat bumped it...I still make a good 2nd slip fielder 8)

Agreed, but the frame looks more like something mass produced than one that was handbuilt. In fact, it looks to me like it has all the features of something lifted straight from the Tange catalogue. Have a look at a Shogun from that period and you'll notice many, many similarities.

Eg: Wouldn't Geoff Scott have used a better brake bridge? That one's just a straight piece of tube.

I am more than a little out of my depth posting anywhere in this section but, looking at the seatpost clamp...

 Those gingers... Are you sure you've got the right cat? (reference to Inside Llewyn Davis) :P

That's a classy frame. So, CroMo tubes? Onto what material in the lugs? Why bonding vs. brazing? :|
Well, no, it's not a pushbike, otherwise I'd be pushing it...

Gefsco Fluro Yellow in the GONG

Are you sure that's a real Gefsco?

This is in no way a Gefsco.

Look at the superfantastic work on the fork ends and the flat top on the seat cluster, they are the quickest ways to tell a low end frame.

Powder coat and decals do no the restoration make.

That's a mountainbike. Quite a nice bit of period XT gear but just a but expensive for such an ugly bike

Because not all of us have short shanks Grant :D

Still asking way to much money for an old Apollo - Max $250 IMO.

When I was a kid I learn't to ride through the frame on one of the bikes stacked at the back of my grandads newspaper shop in Newcastle. Reckon I could ride that IV through the frame now :-)

That apollo was advertised a few months ago..its the Canadian equivalent of a high spec Aust IV. Somehow found its way down under.

Shame it's too big, too pricey, and too far away... :(
I don't care if it's a $20 Huffy or a $20k Colnago, if you're riding it, and you're happy, it's a good bike.
