... indeed. About a 56? Looks in very good shape. And away from salt air, if that's where it's been.
It does look to be in good nick. I would say its a 58cm c-t seat tube though.

Looks nice but is definitely overproiced by $1000. Their dreaming if they think it's a 57 cm c-c seat tube. Based on the 27" wheels and the long steerer tube I reckon its more like a 24" seat tube c-t.

Yea but portacatena. I'm not saying it makes it worth that much, but there's certainly not many of them round.

Spotted a bike on gumtree yesterday, like this one. Contemplated buying it, but could find any details online and the ad only said orange road bike, no size or anything. At $120 was probably a fair price. No detail, no idea of size, difficult to arrange pickup meant I held off.

Flippers at work: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/cameron- ... 1041238016" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; now it's $325 24hrs later.

+1 on both counts. As a CB enthusiast I would probably go a little more than $200 but not much. I ride 22.5" by preference so that is at least a 23.5" frame (60cm). Very late 80's too I would say.
Cheers
Richard

There is a good chance the frame is cracked anyway. Looks like they had fixed the seatpost issue, but the headtube is the same old poor design & prone to cracking from the top & bottom & past the weld on either side.

You reckon if Jack said it was then that's that?
(I don't know anything of Jack Walsh besides what the seller sprouts)
You could always go and have a look at it and get back to us. :D

Does the big hand painted sign of Jack Walsh still sit above his old shop? if so there needs to be some kind of forum topic discussing its rescue and perhaps donation to a cycling museum. it was a big sign too big for a one man job to "rescue". anyone think same??

Beats me... do people really want to sell stuff, or just drive you mad so you have to ask obvious questions? Wrong size, wrong state, but this 57cm. looks like it may be orright.

Yep. Easily fixable, but definitely not at that price. It's gaspipe, after all...

I'd say they tried to bend the stays to take a 130mm hub and botched it.

It has been up for sale on that site for a long time.

Any QLDs get this? Its got a really tight rear triangle, and looks to be well built. Wonder what it is, esp with the CS pantographing?

This is earlier than my field of knowledge, but I like the look of this.
Dutch 531 commuter bicycle

And this is interesting. What is going on with those angles! I'm guessing it's an American built Raleigh? Because I don't think the British arm built anything like that
Raleigh Pro Am

Georgeous Paletti Road frame

Lemond Funny Bike

A different type of Funny Bike...

And from the other side of the fence...
700c Shogun Ground Breaker running Deore LX. Switch the flat bars with drop bars and it becomes a cheap cyclocross bike or commuter.

Same seller also had a neat little Apollo Himilaya for sale.

Pretty little 90s Ribble Road bike.

Late 90s Claud Butler step through. Looks like a half decent frame buried under some rubbish components, fully butted with forged drop outs, tapered seat stay caps and Reynolds something (501?) tubing.

One for those with some shed space :D Too cool!

Yes, it (the Kuwahara) has potential I think (but as you say it's hard to tell from the one pic), and the Apollo MTB looks OK as well.

I've ridden and worked on quite a few Apollo MTBs (see Apollophiles thread), and apart from a couple of 'dogs' that had been ridden
into the ground and abused they were mostly good, honest, value-for-money machines.

The rest are a bit 'meh'.

Surely someone will jump on the BIN before it goes anywhere. I'm having a hard time finding anything with forged dropouts and in good nick for under 250 as of late. Perhaps it's the good weather.

Also, mmm, so nicely stored. I can't see a scratch on it.

For example...

It's nice, but that's a healthy serving of surface rust for $650.

*edit*.
Aaaaand 15 minutes later I've bought a Nishiki Custom Sport for $80. Woo hoo! I'll humbly eat my words. That should leave plenty in the piggy bank for a 'Velouria Style' 10 speed build...

Also, this thread is about to hit 200,000 views.
