Forks aside it looks to be very similar if not the same as my Apollo, not the best out there but a decent bit of kit all the same. The Fixer wrote:I wouldn't mind this one myself... I'd like a 'modern' Apollo roadie to complement my retro ones.

strange place to get a "scratch" and quite a coincidence that it just so happens to be in exactly the same spot as the weld. save your cash.

Looks like a run of the mill mass-produced roadster from the 50s/60s. The relaxed geometry and single sprocket (and undoubtedly weight) would make it impossible to ride up hill. Bolt on seat stays. Coaster brake. Probably not worth much more than the opening bid. But I'm far from an expert, so take all of this with a grain of salt.yugyug wrote:Can anyone tell me anything about this old bike?:

I was interested in buying this bike for a project and made some enquiries. Seems its a roadster probably dates anywhere from 1915ish to 30s date era.yugyug wrote:Can anyone tell me anything about this old bike?:

Contacted the guy about the size and he stated it was a 60cm frame. Further discusion with Clydesdale Scot on the size and we're of the opinion that is misleading as the frame doesn't look that big. Apparently those old frames measure longer in the seat bar, due to laid back/shallow angle. Actual standover height is not comparable to modern steep seat bar bikes(as per Warren's assement).
I picked up another bike for my project so my need for it was no more.

And i don't know quite where to start with this one. $650 for a Merida 907 frame is bonkers, the other stuff is way, way past bonkers.

Never seen one before, but guessing that it is a remote switch to flick the dynohub down.Mulger bill wrote:ldrcycles wrote:"suits someone tall", and double jointed too by the looks of the bars.

Yep, the bit on the left of the black piece is a lever (note the round knob end) that would move from the top of the top tube to the left and point down towards the ground. In doing so the cable it's connected to would rotate within the housing making the dynamo move and engage.utedeej wrote:Never seen one before, but guessing that it is a remote switch to flick the dynohub down.
