Hi,
Does anyone know anything about Somec bikes from the steel era? Finding it pretty difficult to find much info on them apart from a little history about the company etc.
I've grabbed a frame from '79 but I only know that it's a Somec, not sure whether they only put out one road model and one track model around that time or if there were different level models as is the case with other manufacturers. Have seen a few google pics of vintage Somec's, but nothing that even comes close to my one.
Any info (or pointers in the right direction) would be appreciated though I'm not holding my breath ... it's almost as if they were a closely guarded secret.
Thanks
Somec

I might be able to help with some pantographed bits for that bike if you need them.

The Somecs I have seen are all beautifully finished. You can tell the builder put a little bit more effort into making the frame than the typical builder. An under-rated marque, in my opinion. Possibly because the name does not sound Italian enough...
