Kenevans Road - Winter project

Postby singlespeedscott » Fri Mar 25, 2011 5:45 pm

Talking paint jobs. I contacted Joe Cosgrove about a single colour paint job. All he charges is $200. If one of the best frame painters in the business is only charging that I think you would struggle to make much out of it unless you turning over a few a day.

leightebee got his frame done by mr cosgrove for $500-$600 this included prepping, then applying a black base for the green, then a white base for the gold stripe. fiddly stuff, but not complex by any means.
i can't wait to get my quote

Yeah but that's you chicks in Qld are tight asses   :P

I'll also agree that Cosgrove is one of the best and I'm sure his average paint job ends up being around $350+
In saying that I don't some knob courier dude losing my and bending my frame and as good as Cosgrove is I'd rather pay for a local paint job and meet face to face before handing over my prized frames.

Speaking of Joe, I just watched this http://vimeo.com/18514139 while trying to find some contact details for him. What a cool dude 8)

Back on topic... Ive just had news that my headset wont be arriving for at least another month.

Anyone have a spare campy victory/triomphe headset they'd like to part with?

Can you be more specific about the stack height? I'll check to see what I've got.

Looked through a bunch of stuff and found only one that's kinda appropriate for your frame. Campagnolo Alloy .. probably late 80's (not 100% certain). Crown race is not original but a good fit, integrated washer sits inside the top nut. A little surface rust on the steel bearing races. Will polish/shine up pretty easy if that's you thing.

Make a $20 donation to the Qld Flood Appeal, NZ earthquake or to Japan (tsunami/earthquake) and its yours including postage.

Amazing stuff there, just went through his flickr. His mask/stencill work is on another level :o
I guess it also helps when you have such stunning frames to work with

This sums it up for me

Bit of an update... After fitting the replacement headset, the one I'd been waiting for finally showed up(3 months!!) So swapped it over & put in the bb. Also tapped the holes for the adjusted screws & put them in.

Then it was off to my mates house for some glamor shots while its clean

I have all the parts ready to go, just waiting to find someone local that can build the rear wheel.
